Heart of the Hill
FRB began Heart of the Hill in 2007 as a way to share our experiences and those of our volunteers with decision makers in Washington, DC. We do this by establishing relationships with elected representatives and other relief and development agencies.
It is our hope that the voice of FRB, our community growing project volunteers and overseas guests will cultivate greater awareness, understanding and support for our and others' efforts to grow lasting solutions to hunger.
FRB plans to have at least 40 volunteers travel to Washington, DC each year to meet with representatives, administration officials, various departments and other organizations. If you would like to travel to Washington with FRB, please note the upcoming Heart of the Hill trips: http://www.foodsresourcebank.org/heart-hill
